ITRI: Informational Text Reading Inventory
Grade 4
We are pleased to make available all of the materials that teachers will need to use the Grade 4 Informational Text Reading Inventory (ITRI) in their classrooms in downloadable/printable form. A complete set of Grade 4 ITRI materials includes the following sets of documents:

In order to make the downloading process more convenient, you can choose to download individual documents or entire sets of documents. Below you will find downloadable files as well as a brief description of each.
Complete Set of all Grade 4 ITRI Documents - 12.1 MB
Download everything in a single 309 page PDF file. Includes all materials needed to use Grade 4 ITRI in your classroom.

You do not need to download any other files if you get this one, but users with slower connections may prefer to view specific sections and documents. They are separated and identified below.
English/Language Arts Introductions
There are eight of these introductions, one for each of the eight reading skill areas addressed by ITRI. You will need one copy of each introduction per student. Students will need to refer to these introductions as they complete each ITRI lesson, so you may consider printing them on cardstock or sturdy paper if it is available. You may also consider making overheads of these documents for easy reference.

Student Lessons
There are two assessments, a diagnostic and a follow-up, twenty-four student lessons, three for each of the eight reading skill areas, and a Lesson Glossary. You will need one copy of each lesson per student. Students will write on these lessons.

Complete Student Lesson Set (includes all documents) - 9.10 MB / 134 pp.
The Diagnostic Assessment is made up of three documents: a Timed Reading Tool, a Science Tool, and a Social Studies Tool. You will need one copy of each document per student.

Complete Diagnostic Assessment Set (includes all three documents) - 1.54 MB / 12 pp.

The Follow-Up Assessment is made up of three documents: a Timed Reading Tool, a Science Tool, and a Social Studies Tool. You will need one copy of each document per student.

The lesson glossary contains definitions of all ITRI vocabulary words. Some lessons require students to reference this glossary or a dictionary. You may either print one copy per student, or several copies to be shared in the classroom.

Teacher Manual
The teacher manual is made up of nine documents, one for each reading skill area and an introduction explaining how to use ITRI with your students. You will need one copy of the teacher manual per teacher/classroom.
